Our commitment to accessibility
Last updated: 4 April 2026
Our approach
Break Even Auto believes everyone should be able to use our website, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience.
Standards we follow
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, colour blindness)
- Hearing impairments
- Motor difficulties
- Cognitive disabilities
What we've done
This website has been built with accessibility in mind from the start. Specific measures include:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- High colour contrast ratios between text and backgrounds — crisp white body text on a deep black canvas
- Keyboard navigation support — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard
- Responsive design that works across screen sizes, from mobile phones to large desktop monitors
- Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context
- Form labels and error messages that are clear and associated with their inputs
- Respects the “prefers-reduced-motion” setting — animations are disabled for users who have requested reduced motion in their operating system
- Skip-to-content functionality for keyboard users
Known limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:
- Placeholder images (used while professional photography is pending) may lack descriptive alt text — these will be updated as real images are added
- Third-party content (such as the Cloudflare Turnstile widget on the contact form) is subject to the accessibility of those services
We are actively working to identify and resolve accessibility issues as they arise.
Reporting accessibility issues
If you encounter any accessibility barriers on this website, we want to hear about it. Please contact us with:
- A description of the issue you encountered
- The page where the issue occurred
- The device, browser, and any assistive technology you were using
We take accessibility feedback seriously and will do our best to address reported issues promptly.
